Keeping Naples homes cold

AC repair and air conditioning service in Naples, FL

HVAC Air Conditioning Naples repairs and replaces air conditioning for homes and condos in Naples and along the Collier County coast. Call or text us, or open the chat button, and tell us what the system is doing.

Built for the coast

Salt off the Gulf eats outdoor coils. We check for it on every visit, and we install with straps and raised stands where the code calls for them.

Condos and high rises

Air handlers in hall closets, condensers on the roof or lined up behind the building. We plan the visit around how we reach the equipment.

Seasonal homes

If the house sits closed all summer, we can service the system before you leave and set it up to keep humidity down while you're away.

What we fix on Naples air conditioners

Most calls start the same way. The house is warm, the thermostat says the system is on, and the air at the vents isn't cold. Sometimes it's a capacitor that gave out in the heat, sometimes a drain line that backed up and tripped the float switch, and sometimes it's a refrigerant leak in a coil that has spent years in salt air.

We work on central air conditioners and heat pumps, which is what most Southwest Florida homes cool with, plus ductless mini-splits and the air handlers, drain lines and thermostats that go with them. If you're searching for AC repair in Naples, start there.

Air conditioning near the Gulf works harder

A condenser on a Gulf Shore Boulevard roof and one in a Golden Gate side yard are the same machine in very different air. The coastal one breathes salt every day, and salt left sitting on a coil corrodes it.

One major manufacturer puts the reach of salt spray at as far as two miles from the coast. How fast it does damage depends on how close the unit sits to the water and which way the wind blows.

So on coastal jobs we look at more than the part that failed. We check the fins, the cabinet base, the straps and the copper where it meets the coil, and we tell you what we see.

What happens when you call

  1. Describe the symptom

Warm air at the vents, a wet floor by the air handler, an outdoor unit that hums, a breaker that won't stay on. Tell us where the equipment sits too, whether that's a garage, a condo closet, a roof or a stand under a raised house.

  2. We look before we replace anything

The tech checks power, airflow, the drain and the refrigerant side, then tracks down the part that actually failed and, if possible, why it failed.

  3. You hear what we found

We explain the problem and what we'd do about it in plain words. You decide before any part gets replaced.

  4. Fixed and tested

After the repair we run the system and check that it cools and drains the way it should.

No cooling at all and there's ice on the lines? Switch the thermostat to off and call us. Running a system with a frozen coil can turn a small repair into a big one.

Older systems, new builds and seasonal homes

Naples Park lots went on sale in 1951. Lely Resort was still being built out after 2001. So the air conditioning in a given Naples house can be anything from an aging R-22 system to equipment installed this year, and we work on all of it.

If yours still runs on R-22, it can keep running. Production and import of R-22 ended on January 1, 2020, though, so repairs now depend on recovered and reclaimed supply. We'll tell you when a repair still makes sense and when replacing the system is the better use of your money.

Seasonal homes are their own problem. A house closed up for the summer still needs the air conditioner to pull moisture out, and a clogged drain that shuts the system off in July can go unnoticed until October. Our guide to humidity in a closed-up home covers the settings that hold up.

No cooling? Call or text us.

Or open the chat button. Tell us what the system is doing and where the equipment sits, and we'll set up a visit.

Questions we get

Do you repair heat pumps as well as air conditioners?

Yes. In cooling mode a heat pump works the way a central air conditioner does, and it's what a lot of Naples homes have. We also repair the reversing valve and the other parts that let it heat on our few cold mornings.

Which parts of Collier County do you cover?

Naples, Golden Gate, Marco Island, Pelican Bay, Naples Park, Vineyards, Lely Resort and Orangetree. Our service areas page has a note on each one.

Do you install ductless mini-splits?

Yes, for rooms the central system doesn't reach well, like a garage, an addition or a sunroom. A mini-split's refrigerant lines need only a small hole through the wall, so no ductwork has to be run.

Can you work on a condo unit?

Yes. Condo systems usually pair an air handler in a closet inside the unit with a condenser on the roof, a balcony or a pad. Your association may have rules about access and equipment, so it's worth checking with the manager before a replacement.

Is it worth keeping an old R-22 system running?

Often, for small repairs like a capacitor or a contactor. A leak in the coil is a harder call, because R-22 is no longer produced and there's no drop-in substitute. We'll lay out both options.
